Save The Date: The KITZLAND adventure playground will be officially opened on June 4th!
On Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 5 p.m., KITZLAND will open its doors to guests of all ages for the first time. You are cordially invited to celebrate the opening and get to know the new play and exercise facility at RPTU in Kaiserslautern!
The opening ceremony will be conducted by RPTU President Prof. Malte Drescher. Afterwards, visitors will have free access to the KITZLAND: the new play equipment, divided into several movement and age-specific areas, can be extensively tested and inaugurated. The evening will be accompanied by live music from the "Seven Funny Tones" (school band from Heinrich-Heine-Gymnasium Kaiserslautern), food and drink, an ice cream van and much more.
Participation is free of charge and all interested parties are welcome - we look forward to your visit!
KITZLAND: Play and exercise landscapes for children and young people aged 0 to 14
A playground of superlatives: covering an area of over 1,000m², the adventure playground on the grounds of RPTU's UNISPORT in Kaiserslautern offers a play paradise for the youngest RPTU members.
Divided into three main areas, the KITZLAND offers exercise and meeting opportunities for children and young people of a wide age range - as well as their parents, families and accompanying persons.
Access to Kitzland is free of charge as part of the ZSGW's SUMMER SOUL event series.
Sand play area: from 0 years
Even the youngest children will find age-appropriate play activities in KITZLAND. In Klein Schildkröt's town, toddlers can run through a variety of themed play panels and use their motor skills and muscles in the process. The music board uses colorful elements to create rhythm, sounds and tones that develop creativity and sensory skills. This and other play equipment in the sand play area promotes movement, interaction and cognition from the very beginning.
Movement play area: from 4 years
The ocean arena, a huge climbing frame in the middle of the playground, can be explored by children of all ages. A ride on this zip line is a great experience for children of all ages, both sitting and standing. The Cliff Rider offers an intensive and exciting play experience as a swinging and climbing play equipment. Swings, other climbing options and twisters round off the movement play area.
Adventure play area: from 4 years
The large play castle gives the playground a royal touch and attracts children of all ages. With its great division into ground-level and raised play areas, the castle allows different age groups to play together. The diverse and varied access points, rungs, slides, climbing walls, net bridges and climbing frames train children's motor and muscular skills, as well as their sense of balance and space. There are also jumper floor trampolines, seesaws, a Supernova rotating ring and balancing beams.
The grounds: leisure activities for young and old
The KITZLAND is located on the grounds of the UNISPORT at RPTU in Kaiserslautern, where numerous other sports and leisure facilities can be found in the immediate vicinity. The playground itself offers recreational facilities for parents, families and accompanying persons, including electricity and internet supply, as well as toilets.
